MEET PHILIPPE LIGIER
Step into the enchanting tale of Philippe Ligier, whose journey into the delectable world of baking started at the tender age of 14 among the quaint streets of Maiche, France. With passion as his compass and his beloved Anne-Laure by his side, Philipe's journey led them to establish their first "Boulangerie" in the charming town of Chaussin, a commune tucked in between Saint-Baraing and Asnans-beauvoisin of Eastern France when they were 19 years old. Amidst the flurry of powder, flour, and the fragrance of freshly baked bread, they nurtured not only their bakery but also their wanderlust, indulging in two annual escapades to savor the richness of diverse cultures, all while keeping their sanity and youth intact.
A decade of devotion to their craft saw them hungering for fresh adventures, prompting a leap across continents to Albuquerque, NM, where they breathed life into "The French Corner Bakery," inheriting the legacy of a Cuban bakery on San Mateo. Yet, after seven splendid years, destiny called them back to the sun-kissed landscapes of Aix en Provence, France, where "Zazouille" graced the famous "Place des Cardeurs" as a haven for brunch and dinner connoisseurs
Amidst the ups and downs of their culinary voyage, a revelation dawned upon them: Philipe's true calling lay in the true alchemy of bread, desserts, and baked delicacies. With hearts brimming with nostalgia and a zest for their craft, they embarked once more on a homeward-bound journey, this time to Santa Fe, NM! Voila! Clafoutis was born, a pastry-driven beacon of culinary excellence that has illuminated the hearts and palates of patrons for 17 beautiful years.
In this autoroutes adventure through time, their two daughters have become an integral part of the family business, and soon, their eldest grandchild shall step forth to join the legacy, weaving a tapestry of familial bonds and gastronomic delight.
